Frequently Asked Questions

Do You Deliver?

Yes we do! When you order, you can see the delivery charge quoted based on the address you insert. We offer free deliveries under 10km.

What Kind of Wood is Best for Indoor Fireplaces?

We have several good options for indoor fireplaces:

  • Birch and Tamarack provide great heat with little ash
  • Birch has little to no spark and great BTU’s
  • Tamarack has higher BTU’s and little spark

For more info on our woods, check out all of our wood types HERE

Can I Get Kindling with My Order?

You certainly can!

We package kindling in bundles that can be purchased with any order for $5.00 per bundle. You can select Add Kindling and specify the number of bundles you’d like on any type of wood order.

Is the Wood Seasoned or Do I need to Wait to Use it?

You’ll find that all of our wood types are already seasoned and ready for you to burn anytime.

How Long Should a Cord of Wood Last?

Generally, a cord of wood will last between 8 and 12 weeks if you typically have a fire twice a week. If you burn a fire daily, of course, a cord will be used up much more quickly.  If you expect to use a fair amount of wood over the winter (or summer!), you can set up regular deliveries using our subscription service by selecting the Subscription option at checkout.

Can I Set Up Regular Deliveries?

Definitely! We’ll be happy to make sure you get wood delivered regularly whether you want weekly, monthly or even quarterly deliveries, and you’ll even get a discount based on how often you’d like us to deliver.

To set up a subscription, simply select the Subscription option when you order and we’ll send you a form to complete telling us the type of wood, interval of delivery and amount you want each time. We’ll send you a confirmation and you’ll be able to enjoy regular deliveries all winter, or even all year!

How Much Wood Should I take for a Weekend Camping Trip?

That all depends on whether you or your neighbor are hosting the campfire!

We typically recommend 2 – 4 camping size bags for the weekend.

What's the Safest Wood to Burn?

If you’re looking for the least likely to cause potentially dangerous sparks, we recommend brich – it burns with very low spark and is traditionally one of the safer woods to use.

Of course, be sure to brush up on your fire safety best practices, and never leave a fire unattended! You can find more fire safety tips HERE.
